Chaupain Bakery
We operate Chaupain Bakery as a husband and wife team, bolstered by a small number of dedicated people who share our passion for French-inspired baking, and who are equally determined to create only the highest quality baked goods. My husband Sami started the business seven years ago with a modest $140 at a Farmer’s Market in Bakersfield. As the business grew, we had to make a decision to expand the business or let it go – We followed our passion and in 2017 we opened our own brick and mortar location in South Orange County and move the entire business to the OC. Although we had never opened a retail storefront, we decided to put our other careers on hold and jump in with both feet, for our deep love of baking.
We offer a variety of artisan breads, pastries, quiches, and other baked goods. All products are baked fresh, in-house daily using only the best ingredients. Our genius Head Baker, Miguel Cruz, has over 15-years of experience creating French-style baked goods, and trained under a masterful French baker.
What Sami and I love most about our business are the many uplifting interactions we have with our wonderful customers, who have welcomed us so graciously. Our family is growing, and we could not be happier or more thankful.

You’ve Got a Friend in Woody
If you’re looking for the most loyal of companions, you’ve got a friend in Woody. This handsome boy is fun and kind. He’s a Labrador Retriever blend who is 20 months old. He can’t wait to start 2022 in a forever family!
He’s waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. His adoption fee is $365. He has been altered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. As with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, he is micro-chipped for identification.
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6523 Helen Woodward Way in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday through Friday 12 to 6 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing).
