Vendor Spotlights

Crescent Meat Co.

Nestled in the oak trees and rolling hills west of Red Bluff, CA is where the Gould family is located. In 2017 Jake and Rachelle created Field to Fork Tehama LLC, a multi farm and ranch CSA (community supported agriculture). By the end of 2018 it became evident that there were a lack of direct to consumer beef suppliers. With Jake being a third generation cowboy, it was the natural move to start producing their own. The feedback received was beyond positive and the next step was to begin to offer their cuts of beef to the public. In 2019 Crescent Meat Co began. Crescent Meat Co. is a full family affair with their daughters Maggie and Claire helping with the day to day work, Jake’s parents providing their knowledge and Rachelle’s parents helping with sales Crescent Meat Co. is able to provide quality craft beef in Tehama, Shasta, Butte, Glenn and San Diego counties.

What We Offer – Not all beef is equal. There is a flavor with beef that comes direct from the ranch that cannot be compared to anything bought in the store. Craft beef can only be created with high quality steers, a premium feeding program and a passion to create the best product.

From the 1800s to Now – In 1896 Jacob Zwang immigrated from Germany to California. He partnered with his uncle Moses Levy on a butcher shop in Visalia and in 1905 Jacob and Moses migrated up to Coalinga where they purchased the Coalinga Market and the Crescent Market. In 1906 they incorporated the name Crescent Meat Co. With a wide collection of family brands Jake and Rachelle knew which one they wanted to register for their steers and chose the meat cleaver brand. The only name for the business that seemed fitting was Crescent Meat Co.
