The summer weather is gorgeous this week!  Spend some time outside while you shop for fresh produce, amazing oils and herbs, home goods and more this Sunday.  Our vendor of the week, Terroir by the Sea has amazing products that you don’t want to miss!  Enjoy the musical talents of Rodello’s Machine while you shop, sample and bask in the sunshine this Sunday.

DON’T FORGET, our weekly Rancho Santa Fe Certified Farmers Market is open from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in the Del Rayo Village Shopping Center.  Look for your favorites and new vendors each week and check out the new tenants in the center while you are there.

Rodello’s Machine is the combination of two dedicated musicians, Nate Donnis and Kolby Knickerbocker. With a sound that is like Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons, Wilco and Animal Collective, the two have set out to create their own unique style of indie folk/rock. – Rodello’s Machine  Their live performance will take place at the Market this Sunday!




The RSF Fresh Market Recipe of the Week is…

Heirloom Tomato, Basil & Corn Salad

Serves 4 – Prep time 10 minutes.


What You Will Need and Where to Find it:
  • 3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Thyme of Essence)
  • 1 Tablespoon White Wine Vinegar (Thyme of Essence)
  • 1 Shallot, minced (Valdivia Farms)
  • 1 lb Heirloom Tomatoes (Validiva Farms)
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Corn Kernels (Kawano Farms)
  • 1 dozen Fresh Basil Leaves, torn in small pieces (Sage Mountain Farms)
  • Truffle Seed Salt to taste (Be Runa)
To Prepare:
Whisk together olive oil, vinegar and minced shallot.  Season with Truffle Seed Salt and set aside.  Seed large tomatoes and slice cherry or grape tomatoes in half.  Arrange tomatoes on plates, sprinkle with corn kernels and basil leaves and drizzle with dressing.

Meet Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Pet-of-the-Week, Mimi! This 2-year old, 10lb Dachshund/Chihuahua blend is the life of the party and an all-around love bug. She’s a playful girl who loves toy-time, exploring on walks, and burrowing in blankets for snuggle time. Mimi is dreaming of a happy home with you, you, you- come meet her today!

Mimi is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $299, and, as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, she is micro chipped for identification.  As an added bonus, Mimi also comes with two free passes to Sea World!

Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday through Thursday from 12pm to 6pm; Fridays from noon to 7pm; Saturdays 10am to 6pm; and Sunday 11am to 6pm (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing).”
