La Isla Cevicheria
La Isla Cevicheria is a family-owned Mexican seafood restaurant, serving all parts of San Diego with their brick and mortar restaurant in the heart of Temecula. They take pride in taking their prized family traditional recipes and giving them a modern twist. All orders are made fresh and their famous ceviche is prepared in small batches so that every customer can taste the “off the boat” experience. All of their ingredients are ethically sourced from local businesses.
Get to Know the Family Behind the Food
La Isla Cevicheria is owned and operated by Monica, Ruffo, and their daughter Jessica. It is a family company who stand behind every meal they serve and find inspiration through their family roots. It all began when Monica, a loving mother of four, felt pulled to open up her own cevicheria at the end of 2009 when her family tragically entered a time of financial hardship. Feeling the heat of life, she knew she had to do something to support her family and knew her family-famed ceviche was the key. It was a recipe that had been passed down generation to generation of Baja coastal cooks dating back to the 1930’s. This recipe has been tweaked and perfected over the years, each time winning the love and attention of family members.
Mid-2010, Monica and her husband Ruffo launched La Isla Ceviche, and their journey began.
What Makes Their Location Special
La Isla Cevicheria’s charming restaurant is headquartered in Temecula at Vail Headquarters. Vail Headquarters has been in the heart of Temecula since 1867 and is now a destination for specialty restaurants, boutique stores, and special events. Vail Headquarters and La Isla Cevicheria have partnered together to pull in the community and provide everyone who walks in a taste of local heritage.

Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet Of The Week
Have a Hot Toddy in Your Home
The weather outside may be frightful (for San Diego) but Helen Woodward Animal Center has something quite delightful to warm your home. Hot Toddy is a gorgeous 5-month-old king of cozy. This brown and white tabby is a slow burn – he needs a family with lots of patience for him to get comfortable – but once you’ve won his trust, he’ll fill your home with the warmth of a thousand fireplaces. Hot Toddy isn’t the biggest fan of being picked up, but he is a huge enthusiast of receiving pets and scratchies from the humans he loves. He’s also a homebody’s homebody. Once Toddy’s found a spot in your home, you can expect to find him there throughout the day, purring and making muffins. This makes him the perfect companion for someone who’s looking for an extra reason to smile during their movie marathon on a cold winter’s day.
Hot Toddy is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. His adoption fee is $200 plus a $36 microchip fee. He has been altered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. Hot Toddy is microchipped for identification as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are now open seven days a week. Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call 858-756-4117, extension #1, or visit animalcenter.org.
