858 The Label was created in 2020 but our dream and inspiration started in 2017 by our founder Chelsea Mapes, who had a mission to help bridge the gap between health & wellness and fashion. When you feel good, you look good. We aim to build confidence from the inside out.
Growing up in San Diego, CA, access to the beach, green juices, and sunshine are endless… Which makes health & wellness and beachwear always accessible. Why can’t we share the West Coast lifestyle with the rest of the world?
On top of her dream of helping you feel great, Chelsea chased another passion. As an athlete, Chelsea went to college in New York to play D1 lacrosse. She saw a huge gap in the styles of clothing that were available to women who were athletic and had all different body types, as well as a gap in the education of overall health and wellness.
“As a D1 athlete I saw a lot of misguided information of how to fuel your mind and body in this industry. As women athletes, we are expected to have a certain body type and feel the pressure to look a certain way. This can lead to a lot of people developing unhealthy expectations from this. It is unrealistic and unhealthy to have these images of what you ‘should be’ just because you are an athlete. That’s why I am so passionate about incorporating health and wellness with feel-good designs to make any BODY feel confident and sexy.”

Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet Of The Week
Meet Coral, the Cute Sheperd-Husky Blend!
With her big smile, Coral the German Shepherd-Husky blend can easily brighten anyone’s day. She was rescued from Riverside County where she was once at-risk in an overcrowded shelter, but now her future is bright and she is excited to find her forever family. At 13-months old, she is full of energy, loves her toys and is a big fan of fetch! She is very smart, treat motivated and willing to learn. Coral is 54 pounds of pure affection and has a huge loving heart – she hopes to sea you soon!
She’s waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. Her adoption fee is $375. She has been altered and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. As with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, she is micro-chipped for identification.
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call 858-756-4117, option #1 or visit animalcenter.org.
