Hidalgo Flowers

About Us

In 1976, at the age of 16, Alfredo Hidalgo made a life-changing decision to move from Zacatecas, Mexico to San Diego, California, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Arriving with little more than determination and a strong work ethic, he embarked on a journey that would eventually lead to his success. He found employment at Gish Pacific Flowers and realized this was something he could do for himself, especially because he enjoyed the work. Ten years after moving to San Diego, Alfredo decided to start his own floral business. With limited resources but a wealth of determination, he dove headfirst into founding Hidalgo Flowers.

Alfredo overcame language barriers and navigated unfamiliar business practices, finding ways to adapt and grow. After much hard work and dedication, he purchased his own farm in Vista in 1999. Drawing inspiration from his Mexican heritage, he infuses his work with vibrant colors and designs, but what sets his business apart is Alfredo himself. To know him is to love him! Alfredo’s charm and passion, as well as his dedication to quality and customer satisfaction have helped him build a strong reputation in the community.

Today, this Mexican migrant-turned-entrepreneur stands as a shining example of the American Dream. Through hard work, resilience, and an unwavering passion for his craft, he has established himself as an expert in the flower farming industry. His success story serves as an inspiration to others, showing that with strong will and determination new horizons can be conquered.

Hidalgo Flowers grows their flowers on a 17-acre farm in Vista, California. Each and every flower is treated with lots of sunshine and TLC, and almost every flower from A to Z grows and thrives at their farm.

Stop by this Sunday and pick up a blossoming bouquet to brighten your day or put a smile on a loved one’s face!

Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet Of The Week

Westley’s Looking for True Love!

You don’t have to be a Princess to be Westley’s true love. This 4-month-old farm boy Beagle-Hound blend would duel a Fencing Master atop the Cliffs of Insanity for whomever gives him his forever home. He certainly wouldn’t let a member of the brute squad stop him from giving his family all the love in his heart. He’d even engage in a battle of wits with a con man if it meant putting a smile on his owner’s face. It helps that he spent the last few years developing an immunity to Iocane powder. You don’t need to venture to the Pit of Despair to find sweet Westley, just come by Helen Woodward Animal Center. We’re confident he’s your twu wuv.

Westley is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. His adoption fee is $499 plus a $36 microchip fee. He has been altered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. He is microchipped for identification as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are now open seven days a week. Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call 858-756-4117, extension #1, or visit animalcenter.org.
