Emilio’s Paella

Discover flavors of Spain in Emilio’s Paella!

Husband and wife Emilio and Judy Godoy of Emilio’s Paella have been serving the Rancho Santa Fe Farmers Market community for over twelve years and are beyond popular due to their incredibly succulent and flavorful paella, chock full of chicken, shrimp, seafood, andouille sausage, peas, rice, and more! Also, try their “bocadillos” (sandwiches made with serrano ham, manchego cheese, and their special aioli sauce) and the most amazing gazpacho soup…with market fresh basil and croutons. Don’t miss them this weekend!

Our Paella

Nourishing, vibrant, and served without pretension, paella has held a place of honor and practicality in Spanish homes for centuries. It is Spain’s most famous meal, and for good reason! Our take on this festive rice dish features fresh local seafood, meats, and/or seasonal vegetables, and the presentation on the table is always impressive, served right from its iconic pan. Our recipes are derived from our family heritage in Spain; I (Emilio) was touched by the paella cooking of my Uncle David “Chicuelo” Anguiano, who used to prepare paella for my family every Sunday. He was filled with flare and exuberance, due to his former profession as a Matador, and he will always be a huge inspiration for my family and I’s preparation of paella.

¡Buen Provecho! We can’t wait to meet you this Sunday!

Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet Of The Week

Sunkist’s the Center of the Universe

BREAKING: Scientists have discovered the Center of the universe. It weighs just under 9 pounds and is sitting in a kennel in Helen Woodward Animal Center. The world’s leading astrophysicists haven’t settled on a specific reason why Sunkist has been found to be the source of all matter and joy in the interstellar plane. Some speculate it could be the Calico cat’s radiant personality that serves as a sort of “gravitational well” – capturing those who drift too close to the kitty and ensnaring them in her orbit, giving them no choice but to spend their afternoons with her. Others postulate it could be because Sunkist has simply declared herself the Center of the Universe – and how are the experts supposed to argue with that cute widdle face? What the scientific community can agree upon is that having such a force of cuteness confined to a shelter environment is dangerous. The best protocol for ensuring the stability of the temporal plane is to get her into a forever home as soon as possible.

Sunkist is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. Her adoption fee is $145 plus a $36 microchip fee. She has been altered and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. She is microchipped for identification as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open Friday through Monday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call 858-756-4117, extension #1, or visit animalcenter.org.
